This aricle presents the results of a 3-year field survey in the Soulanges Canal of the St. Lawrence River which sought to determine whether the depth patterns of total dreissenid abundance and the species-specific distributions and relative abundance of adult dreissenid mussels are determined by differential larval supply and settlement, rather than by recruitment.
